Dental x-rays allow us to know more about your teeth and under the gums.

One of the questions we get asked here at Drs. Batten & Heath Family Dentistry is how often someone should have dental x-rays done. We recommend that all first-time patients coming to our dental practice permit us to take x-rays so that we have a baseline for your dental care and can diagnose and treat any initial problems that they show. From this point forward, the frequency will depend on your specific situation. For most people, we recommend having x-rays done a couple times a year.

Dental X-Rays in Walkertown, North Carolina

We prefer a personalized approach so you do not have more dental x-rays than you need but we don’t miss something that makes it challenging to save a tooth. Our goal is to help you avoid more expensive dental procedures. We also do not want to miss something that could affect your overall health. We are here to support you and give you the pertinent information so that you can make informed decisions about your dental care.

Dental x-rays allow us to know more about your teeth and under the periodontal tissue than what we could see with just a visual examination. For example, if you have wisdom teeth below the surface that are having difficulty emerging or you have a cavity inside a tooth, we can advise you on the best course of action to avoid a larger problem down the road. If you would like to know more about dental x-rays, don’t hesitate to give us a call.
